The zeroheight agent is in private beta, available to an invite-only group of teams. It's still evolving, and your feedback directly shapes what we release more widely.
Not in the beta yet? Register your interest and we'll be in touch as we open up more places.
About the zeroheight agent
The zeroheight agent watches for design changes in your connected Figma files and spots when your documentation falls out of sync. When it finds something to update, it proposes a plan.
In the beta, the agent can also make the changes for you. Once you apply its plan, it writes the updates to draft pages in your Styleguide. You review them, refine them, and merge the ones you're happy with. Nothing reaches your viewers until you merge.
What's new in the beta
If you took part in the pilot, here's what's changed:
- See which Figma files the agent is using. You can now check this in the agent's settings.
- The agent plans before it acts. Every suggestion now starts with a short plan: what changed, why it matters, and which pages it proposes to create or update. You can change the plan before anything happens.
- Write-back to draft pages. When you apply a plan, the agent writes its changes straight into draft pages in your Styleguide, ready for you to review and merge.
Want to join the beta?
We're opening the beta to more teams in stages. If your team isn't part of it yet, we'd love to hear from you.
To take part, your team will need:
- Figma. The agent currently works with Figma only. We hope to support more tools soon.
- zeroheight's AI features turned on. Your organisation needs to have opted in to use the agent.
- Access to draft pages. The agent writes its changes to draft pages, so you have the option to review and make changes before merging to latest.
We'll get back to you once there's space, and we'll handle the setup with you from there.
Before you start
- Draft pages. The agent writes all its changes to draft pages, so your team needs access to draft pages in zeroheight. At the moment these are only available on our Enterprise plans.
- Figma changes covered. The agent currently responds to changes to components and styles in your connected Figma files.
- Setup. We'll connect your Figma files for you, so there's nothing to configure. Once you're set up, you'll find Agent in the main navigation.
How it works
- Keep working in Figma as usual. When you sync your design files in zeroheight, the agent will pick up your changes and provide suggestions in the agent dashboard..
- Open a suggestion to see the agent's plan.
- Ask for changes to the plan, if you want to.
- Apply the plan. The agent opens a draft for every page in the plan.
- Review and refine the drafts, with the agent or by editing them yourself.
- Merge or discard each draft. Once they're all handled, the suggestion is done.
Check which Figma files the agent is using
🔒 Let us know what you want to track. When you sync your design files, the agent will study and respond to changes in your Components & Styles.
The agent watches specific Figma files for each Styleguide. To see which ones:
- Open Agent from the main navigation.
- Open Settings.
- You'll see the Figma file(s) the agent is watching for each Styleguide.
Need to change a Figma file?
To add or swap a Figma file, contact us at support@zeroheight.com. To speed things up, include:
- The name of the Styleguide
- The Figma file link(s) you'd like to add or remove
💡 Not seeing suggestions you expected? Check Settings first. If the Figma file you've been working in isn't listed, the agent isn't watching it yet. Get in touch and we'll add it.
Find your suggestions
The agent dashboard lists everything the agent has picked up for the selected Styleguide. Use the Styleguide picker to switch between Styleguides, and the tabs to see where things stand:
- Open: suggestions waiting for you or in progress.
- Done: suggestions where every draft has been merged or discarded.
- Discarded: suggestions you've set aside for now.
Each suggestion shows what triggered it (for example, "Based on the Tooltip component added in Figma") and tags for the kind of change: New page or Update. You can filter by status and type, and sort by date.
If a teammate is working on a suggestion, you'll see "Kate is reviewing" next to it. While someone has a suggestion open, it's locked for everyone else, so you won't step on each other's work.
Review the agent's plan
Select a suggestion and a panel opens on the right with the agent's plan:
- What changed: the update in Figma, for example "Based on a new Tooltip component added in Figma."
- Why I'm raising this: why it matters for your documentation, for example "Tooltip isn't documented in Pixelwave yet."
-
Suggested plan: a bulleted list of pages to create or update, for example:
- Components / Tooltip: create a new page with usage guidance, design guidance and implementation details.
- Components / Index: add Tooltip to the component index.
- Patterns / Filtering: add Tooltip guidance where filtering controls use icon-only actions.
- Resources / Changelog: add an entry announcing the new component.
The agent then asks: "Should I apply this plan, or would you like to make any changes first?". The plan is only a proposal and will first create a Draft page, so nothing changes in your Styleguide until you're happy with it.
Ask for changes to the plan
Type in the Ask for changes… box to adjust the plan before you apply it. You can:
- Remove or redirect a step: "Leave Patterns / Filtering unchanged, and add the accessibility guidance to Foundations / Accessibility instead."
- Change the approach: "Create a new page for this instead of updating the Overlays page."
- Add scope: "Also update the Accessibility guidelines page."
- Add context: attach or share guidance such as your tone of voice guidelines.
The agent confirms the updated plan back to you ("Got it. I'll leave Patterns / Filtering unchanged…") before doing any work.
Not ready yet?
Choose Not now. The agent won't make any changes, and the suggestion stays available in your Discarded tab. When you want to pick it back up, open it and choose Reopen.
Apply the plan
When the plan looks right, click Apply. The agent won't start until you do.
The agent works through the whole plan and opens a draft for every page in it. When it’s finished, it takes you into the styleguide so you can review the changes, and lists what it did, for example:
"I've opened 4 drafts for you to review: Components / Tooltip (created a new component page…), Components / Index (added Tooltip…), Patterns / Filtering (updated the existing draft…), Resources / Changelog (added an entry…)."
Each page in that list links straight to its draft in the editor.
- New pages stay hidden from your viewers until you merge them.
- Existing pages get a draft with the agent's changes, so the live version is untouched until you merge.
🔒 Nothing is published without you. Everything the agent writes lives in a draft until you choose to merge it.
If a page already has an open draft
If someone on your team has already started a draft of a page in the plan, the agent checks with you before touching it. You can choose:
- Start from the current draft: apply the agent's changes on top of the existing draft.
- Start from the latest version: delete the current draft and apply the changes to a new draft created from the latest version.
- Skip this page: don't apply changes to this page.
Review and refine the drafts
Open any draft from the agent's summary. Agent drafts are set to In review, and the chat stays open alongside the page, so you can:
- Ask the agent for changes in chat, for example "In When not to use a tooltip, explain that tooltips shouldn't be a workaround for unclear labels." The agent updates the draft and lets you know when it's done.
- Edit the page yourself using the normal editor.
- Mix both. Go back and forth as many times as you need.
Merge or discard each draft
When you're happy with a draft, click Merge at the top of the page, just like any other draft in zeroheight. Your changes then go live for viewers of your latest version. If you use Releases - you should continue to create these as normal, the agent cannot update content in an older release.
If you don't want a draft, discard it instead and the page stays as it was.
Each merge or discard shows up in the chat ("Jane merged draft of Tooltip", "Jane discarded draft of Filtering"), so you can see at a glance what's left.
Once every draft from the suggestion has been merged or discarded, the agent confirms: "All done – there are no remaining open drafts related to this suggestion." Then you're ready for your next suggestion.
Share feedback
Your feedback is what makes the agent better, so please share it often.
- On a specific response: use the 👍 / 👎 on any agent message, then tell us more in the feedback box. The why is the most useful part.
- On anything else: the agent's behaviour, the UI, a bug, or a passing thought. Click Share feedback at the top right of the agent dashboard.
FAQs
I'm not in the beta. How can I get access?
Register your interest and we'll let you know when there's space for your team. You'll need to be using Figma, with zeroheight's AI features turned on.
Will the agent publish anything without my approval?
No. The agent only starts work once you click Apply, and everything it writes stays in a draft until you merge it.
Do I have to merge every draft the agent creates?
No. Merge the drafts you want and discard the rest. The suggestion is complete once each draft has been merged or discarded.
Can I change which Figma files the agent watches?
You can see them in Settings. To make changes, contact support with the Styleguide name and the Figma file link(s).
Why am I not seeing any suggestions?
Suggestions appear after you sync your Figma files with zeroheight. Check Settings to make sure the right Figma file is listed, and check that the right Styleguide is selected on the dashboard. The agent currently picks up changes to components and styles only.
Can I undo a change the agent made?
Before merging, just discard the draft. There's no one-click undo for agent changes after a merge yet.
What if a page already has a draft?
The agent will ask whether to build on the current draft, start fresh from the latest version, or skip that page.
I clicked Not now by mistake. Can I get the suggestion back?
Yes. Open the suggestion and click Reopen to carry on where you left off.
Can two people work on the same suggestion?
A suggestion is locked while someone has it open. You'll see who's reviewing it on the dashboard.
