This feature has been deprecated and replace by our new release notes feature.

You can share new updates to your design system with your viewers using the What's New feature. This will allow you to get a summary of new changes to your design system without manually tracking them.

 

Add What's new

 

1) In the toolbar, select What's new

 

 

2) If you are adding What's New to a styleguide that has an existing Release you'll be presented with an option to either add a summary of of all design system updates made:

 

  • in the last 30 days, or
  • since the last release was created

 

If a release doesn't exist - a summary of all design system updates made within the last 30 days will be generated.

 

 

Note: Releases are not available to teams on Free or Starter plans.

 

Note: The summary is static and will not update when you make changes to the styleguide. You must re-add the summary to your styleguide to update it.

 

3) Your summary is displayed in your styleguide page! You can also copy your summary and share it in your communication channels (e.g., Slack, Microsoft Teams, email)

 

 

You can edit and remove the links from your What’s new summary.

 

1) Select the link

 

2) Click Edit or Remove

3) If you select Edit, you can edit the link to redirect to another page in your styleguide

 

4) if you select Remove, you will remove the hyperlink, but the text will remain in the summary.

 

FAQs

 

What if a page has been created, edited and/or deleted in the last 30 days?

 

If a page has been deleted it will be guaranteed to appear in the Deleted section even if it was also created and/or edited in the last 30 days

 

If a page was both created AND edited in the last 30 days, it will appear in the New section

 

If a page was added more than 30 days ago but was edited in the last 30 days, it will appear in the Updated section.

 

What counts as an edit?

 

Unless it was deleted or created in the last 30 days, any action (e.g., adding and editing content blocks or restoring a page) in the last 30 days will appear in the Updated section

 

What doesn't count as an edit?

 

If content that is populated via another source (e.g. Figma, Storybook, and GitHub) is edited in the source file (tokens, markdown, uploads), it will not appear in the Updated section.

 

Are hidden pages included?

 

Hidden pages are not included in your What's New summary when updated, created, or deleted.
